Last Call: 2 Days Left to Register Your Team!

Birding Classic team
Have you registered for the 18th Annual Great Texas Birding Classic yet?  If not, there's still time to put your team together but hurry, the deadline is Tuesday, April 1, 2014!

The Birding Classic now makes it easier than ever for you to take part in this fun, conservation fundraising event! The statewide format, coupled with a pick-your-date option from April 15 - May 15, make this birdwatching tournament work well with everyone's schedule anywhere in the state of Texas. Friends, family, and co-workers can join together to pick from any tournament that fits their schedules, all while raising funds for nature tourism and avian habitat conservation projects in Texas.

Visit www.birdingclassic.org and register your team. Team registration deadline is this Tuesday, April 1!  Participate from anywhere in Texas, April 15 - May 15, 2014. Register now - pick your tournament day later!

Lake Texoma offers plenty of opportunities for birding - Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge, Tishomingo Wildlife Refuge, Cross Timbers Trail as well as State and National parks all have trails abundant with wildlife.  Find a list of the parks, recreation areas and preserves on www.texomaconnect.com

How it works:
•Online access: register and access all materials online at www.birdingclassic.org.
•Tournament date flexibility: choose your participation day(s) on the fly -- instead of when you register. Now plan your dates based on weather, personal schedules, work, school or when you think birds are most likely to be seen. Teams just email the GTBC staff within 24-hours of their selected date.

A category for everyone: 42 different categories offer something for you and your students and interns, regardless of birdwatching experience, age, ability, location, length of time you prefer to bird, etc. The Sunrise to Noon Tournament lets teams go out for a nice half-day of birding, while we still have Big Sit! and Regional Big Day Tournaments for those wanting to bird a full 24 hours. And those are just a few examples of how you can participate. There truly is something for everyone!!

How to Participate takes you through a step by step process on how to register your team.

Remember - it's for the birds! Registration fees and sponsorship dollars go toward Conservation Grants for birding, nature tourism, and habitat restoration and enhancement projects throughout the state, and some winning teams will help select which projects are funded. The more teams that register, the more funds raised and awarded!

Still on the fence about registering? View this new video to see some of the fun from last year's Birding Classic. We look forward to your joining the fun at Texas' statewide Great Texas Birding Classic!
