8th Annual Bluegrass Jamming Festival

The 8th Annual Bluegrass festival will run from June 1-7, 2014, at the Chrystal Opry House on Melody Ranch near Sherman, TX.. 

The Bluegrass festival will focus on jamming and having fun along with potlucks and games. For the campers, a hamburger grill is scheduled for Tuesday at 6 pm, a potluck dinner on Wednesday at 6 pm and Thursday we will serve biscuits and gravy at 9 a.m.  The Whitewright Chamber of Commerce will provide donuts for the Thursday morning breakfast hour.  Friday at noon a soup and salad potluck will be served. 

Well known Bluegrass bands will  play Friday night, Saturday afternoon and Saturday night. On Friday night, beginning at 6 o’clock an open mic gives opportunity to the jammers to get onstage for a bit before the Melody Ranch Ramblers begin their program at 6:30. At 7:30 Copper Canyon will perform and at 8:30 there will be a band scramble for those wishing to participate.

On Saturday afternoon at 1 pm is another open mic opportunity. At 2:00 and 6:00 pm Tin Top Road will perform. Nickelville Road will play at 3:00 and 7:00 pm and Copper Canyon will perform at 4:00 and 8:00 pm.  Jamming will continue from 9:00 till ???.
   
Admission for Friday is $10. Admission for Saturday is $15. Come for both days and pay only $20.

The Chrystal Opry house is located at 1977 White Mound Road, Sherman, Texas, which is 1.5 miles west of Tom Bean or 6 miles east of Howe on FM 902 and a half mile south on White Mound Road.  No alcohol is permitted and there is no smoking inside the building. Seating is provided.
   
Food is available at the snack bar inside the Opry House during the shows. We serve hot dogs, chopped brisket sandwiches, nachos, chili dogs, ice cream, popcorn, soda, coffee, and candy bars.
