Deep Summer Bluegrass Festival at Melody Ranch

Deep Summer Bluegrass Festival August 20th.—23rd at Melody Ranch just SE of Sherman.

There will be  jamming and pickin' and lots of toe tapping with afternoon and nightly performances by some of the best musicians in North Texas.  Bring your camper, RV or tent and enjoy three days of Bluegrass music and fellowship.  Electric and water hookups are available for a small fee.  Showers and a dump station are also available.

A potluck supper will kick-off the Deep Summer Bluegrass festival on August 20th. at 6 pm which is free for campers.  Non campers who wish to participate please call 903-546-6893 for details. There will be fellowship and jamming afterwards.

The gospel section of the festival is focused on Thursday evening beginning at 6 pm. We have The Pausitive Band, Dueling Hearts, The Full Quiver, and Copper Canyon for that evening.

Friday’s events at the Chrystal Opry House will begin at 1 pm with Melody Ranch Ramblers, The Upper Grassmen, Dueling Hearts, and Mark Phillips and IIIrd Generation Bluegrass Band. The evening performance will begin at 6:00 pm.

Saturday’s events begin at 1 pm. with The Right Direction, Copper Canyon, Shady Grove Ramblers and Mark Phillips and IIIrd Generation Bluegrass Band.  The evening performance will begin at 6 pm.

Saturday from 8 AM - 3 pm or  until it gets too hot, is  allocated for vendors to come and sell their arts and crafts or anything else they would like to sell. Contact Bill or Annette Hayes at 903-546-6893 if you are interested in setting up to sell your items.

The Chrystal Opry House is located at 1977 White Mound Road, Sherman, Texas which is 1.5 miles west of Tom Bean or 6 miles east of Howe on FM 902 and a half mile south on White Mound Road.  No alcohol is permitted and there is no smoking inside the building. Seating is provided.

Food is available at the snack bar inside the Opry House during the shows. We serve hot dogs, chopped brisket sandwiches, and during the dinner hour on Friday and Saturday evening, we will serve an enchilada, beans, and rice plate.
