Sherman Community Players Announces “Rabbit Hole”

Written by: David Lindsay-Abaire
Directed by: Anthony Nelson
Featuring: Molly Bower, Megan McCullough, Shane Beeson, Becky Smith, and Morgan Henard

The Sherman Community Players announces the opening of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize
Sherman Community Players Presentation - Rabbit Hole
winner “Rabbit Hole” by playwright David Lindsay- Abaire.  “Rabbit Hole” follows the lives of Howie and Becca Corbett who had everything a family could want, until a
life-altering accident turns their world upside down and leaves the couple drifting perilously apart.  “Rabbit Hole” charts their bittersweet search for comfort in the darkest of places and
for a path that will lead them back into the light
of day.  “The playwright David Lindsay-Abaire, should be a familiar name to the general public.

As a screenwriter, he is known for his work on Robots, Oz; The Great and Powerful, and Shrek 3rd” mentions Artistic Director of SCP Anthony Nelson.  “We have gone to great lengths to bring the fruitfulness of this material to life,” He elaborates, “and I don’t want to be misunderstood, when I talk about this play not being appropriate for children, it’s not because of the ‘true to life’ dialogue Lindsay-Abaire has constructed—it’s because of the adults themes of grieving and loss that the play explores.  If anyone has ever had to experience the tragedy of losing someone or something close to them, then this play is going to speak to them.  It address a lot of universal issues that I think a lot of people will relate with, and I know people will walk out of the theatre pleasantly surprised at just how moved they feel because of this production.”

Rounding out the talented cast are locals Becky Smith and Megan McCullough and from the metroplex area, some new faces to the SCP Audiences which include: Molly Bower, Shane Beeson, and Morgan Henard.  “I have been extremely impressed with the cast on this show—this group is very dedicated to telling this story, and the amount of commitment I have seen from them has been a real treat to work with.”   Nelson says.
