The contest, which is sponsored by The Friends of Hagerman, is open to all interested photographers for photos taken at Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge. The contest entry period is from July 26 -September 6, 2013.

Photo categories to be judged are Wildlife, Flora and Macro, Landscape, Artistic, and Youth. All entries must have been taken in the calendar years 2011, 2012 or 2013. Winners will be determined by a three-judge panel who will not know the identities of the photographers. The top three winners in each category will receive ribbons and a cash prize will go to the Best in Show. Winning photos will be displayed at the Refuge Visitor Center and displayed on the Friends website.

An entry fee of $5 must be presented for each submission (a submission may be for just one image or as many as 10 images), and photographers may send in multiple submissions.  Submitted entries must be the original work of the photographer, and the photographer must own the copyright to the image. Photos that have been published or sold may not be submitted

Judges for the 2013 contest will be Rick Cantu, Assistant Manager at Hagerman NWR, Thomas Judd, Denton, Texas, professional photographer, and Skip Hill, Sherman, Texas, professional photographer.   For more information, please contact fohphotoclub@gmail.com.
