The Pottsboro Senior Center will host guest speaker Natalie Bauman, columnist for the Pottsboro Sun newspaper, at 11 a.m. on Thurs., Oct. 30. Ms. Bauman will be speaking about gathering our local history for preservation on “The Portal to Texas History”, a gateway to Texas history materials. The Pottsboro Library received a recent grant enabling the Pottsboro library the resources to scan and upload old photos, newspapers, and stories from local residents who may want to add the information to the website.
The public is invited to attend, bring their information to the library for scanning, and eat lunch. Advance reservations for lunch are required by 5 p.m. on Wed., Oct. 29 by calling 903-327-3728. Lunch is no charge for those 60 years or older, or guests may pay $5.50 for lunch or bring their own brown bag. The menu will be country fried steak with gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, wheat bread and apple cobbler.
