Lake Texoma moratorium on shoreline management use requests to end

Press Release

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tulsa District announced today that effective July 1, 2014 the moratorium on shoreline management use requests at Lake Texoma will end.

The Texoma Lake Office will first process boat dock applications already in the database in the order originally received. It is unknown how long it may take to clear the backlog, so the Lake Office will let the public know when this phase is nearly complete and when they will begin accepting new construction applications for coves with available space, on a first-come first-served basis.

The moratorium went into effect May 8, 2009 when the Corps received numerous applications following the heavy flooding of 2007 that damaged or destroyed many facilities and campgrounds. Given the workload, staffing limitations at that time, and several other projects, the Corps implemented the moratorium.
